Project Overview

The design concept for Golden Harvest Tsing Yi comes from the idea of a giant wooden box. To create an exciting and mysterious atmosphere like you would when you are watching a movie for the first time.

Project Brief

Visitors are welcomed by a sophisticated entrance with informative screens of the show times. The box office is also designed with the wooden box concept in mind, to keep the theme consistent with the rest of the interior. Simple white lighting are used against the black-mirrored stainless steel wall to create a sharp and luxury impression when the customers are purchasing their tickets.

As you walk through the corridor to the gourmet concierge, the atmosphere differs slightly. There is a warm and harmonic feel as you are in this zone. The feature wall is designed with cargo boxes for a retro contrast. The desk also uses wooden materials because it enhances that it is the focal point in the room, luring customers to purchase food and drinks.

Project Innovation/Need

We have created a unique and original concept for this design and challenged ourselves by juxtaposing different materials of wood and steel together.

Design Challenge

One of the challenges for this project was to create something unique and different from the previous design that had won a design award. With that in mind we also had to keep within the budget.

Sustainability

Throughout this interior we have used LED lights which have environmental benefits, such as it being longer lasting and therefore don't need to be replaced often. It also consumes less energy which means they produce less heat.
