Our policy on cookies

The purpose of this policy is not to educate you on what a cookie is and isn’t, what it can and can’t do. There are many sites out there that do this better than us. This includes a very thorough article on wikipedia

Rather than educate we are going to assume you are here because you know enough to be informed and concerned. And this is the part we would like to respond to the most.

Our aim with any technology or functionality we implement on our sites is to make it easier to complete the task that brought you to the site. Cookies can do this and can be particularly useful when it comes to personalisation.

We DO NOT implement any cookies from any of our websites. Our functionality is very simple and there is no requirement to do so at the moment.

However, we do use third party software that uses cookies to help us provide you with a better experience.

To be totally transparent, we use Google Analytics to help us understand our audience and how we can improve their experience. Google Analytics drops a cookie so that it can see how you are moving through the site. This is essential for us to understand.

We use AddThis (addthis.com), a small piece of code that allows you to seamlessly connect with your social networks such as facebook and twitter, also drops cookies. You can read what their cookies do directly from addthis

We do publish content you provide to us such as videos. These are embedded in our websites, but come from sites such as YouTube and Vimeo. So, when you view the videos on our sites you may be presented with cookies from them. We do not control the dissemination of these cookies.

None of the cookies on our sites store any identifiable information about you such as name, address, or contact details.

If you find all this concerning, there are many sites that explain how to turn cookies off completely. You can find this information from Google; and if you're really interested, you could take a look at a couple of articles from Time magazine and from the Wall Street Journal on Google working on how to get rid of cookies all together.

If you need more information, please contact us.
