Project Overview

To build a headquarter for emerging media platform named NTD, the designer uses powerful methods of great ingenuity to interpret the strengthening and description from the perspective of spirit. Therefore, the spirit of design emphasizes the indispensable moral consciousness of media, the positive energy, the future vision, and value of existence. The popular skills of metaphor and symbolization are used to transfer the timeless visual arts.

Project Brief

The “time tunnel” at the entrance is extraordinarily inspiring. The designer uses reflections from black mirrors and lines transformations in three dimensions in a short tunnel to create a transition area intersected by visual and real. The area creates a metaphor that the business group of NTD Station, the group which has been through the reincarnations from the Tang dynasty, runs the modern media from the ancient moral and wisdom.

The designer uses reflections from black mirrors and lines transformations in three dimensions in a short tunnel to create a transition area intersected by visual and real. The area creates a metaphor that the business group of NTD Station, the group which has been through the reincarnations from the Tang dynasty, runs the modern media from the ancient moral and wisdom.

Design Challenge

The reception and meeting area, on the left side of the aisle, is meandering parallel into grid-shape configuration with canopy. The design makes the reception area an independence cluster, and outline a metaphor that presents the freedom of media does not act without limits. The moral and laws are the regulations to media people. In the meantime, the regulations also remind the mass communicator about the required introspection, self-discipline, inheritance, and innovation. The other side is a large meeting room. On the both sides of the large meeting room in glass compartment and reception area, there are the ideas from the “ancient map” and “modern world map,” which present the missions of everlasting history and the ambitions of globalization. In addition to a brand new medium which presents the themes of diversity and the bright prospects, it also reminds the executive officers and customers that the NTD is a global media platform endowed with historical wisdoms and demonstrates excellent tensions of time and space in four dimensions. The purified framework of lines and tidy allocation of space present the modern art with simple materials and the concision, and efficiency of public instruments in ages.

Sustainability

Moreover, the whole space presents tidy and lively style; the texture with modern style. The soft carpet reduces huge interference from noise. The plain ceiling is painted in black, a method which efficiently elevates the deep imagination when people look upward. The rearrangement of the pipelines also brings the fun with plural vertical and horizontal structures.

Open to all international projects this award celebrates innovative and creative building interiors, with consideration given to space creation and planning, furnishings, finishes, aesthetic presentation and functionality. Consideration also given to space allocation, traffic flow, building services, lighting, fixtures, flooring, colours, furnishings and surface finishes.
