Project Overview

The Chinese style performed in this design, other than the usual oriental spirits, incorporated with the technological elements of Western architecture. Deliberately takeoff the ideological corset, and further create new rules of the game, the design shows the style of oriental design. On the expression of construction techniques, in order to create a Chinese-style humor, there are seemingly effortless ways to deal with a very complex structure. It makes the whole building as a vocal, both humorous and frank dialogue relations. Within the blend, the building shows neither rigid nor nonconformist pragmatism. Moreover, by the transformation of the Chinese traditional “five entrances”, there is a deep spiritual dialogue in the modern physical space.

Project Brief

Designer use the Montage design techniques, the multi-style metaphors and symbolic integration, into the space as narratives. At the same time, emphasizing the large number, looping, repeating and clever use of contrasting conflict made the relationship between aesthetics.

The philosophy of Chinese architecture is mainly an attitude of self-reflection. Emphasizing the human-liked trainings, it pursues a perspective from inside to outside, that is the building inside looking to the environment outside. It uses the modern style physical structure to decorate the borderless cultural integration.

Having continue the concepts of home by great Chinese philosophers during Tang and Song, Ming and Qing Dynasties, and at the same time diminishing the levels, seniority those hierarchy feudal ideology of traditional space. The essence of Western science and technology made the home culture into a new atmosphere, emphasizing the cultural tastes of the owner and self-cultivation, the focus on comfort life. It is not limited to a certain color or form, freedom and creativity to become the highest guiding principle, so that the East-West figure is in comfortably intersect.

Open to all international projects this award celebrates innovative and creative building interiors, with consideration given to space creation and planning, furnishings, finishes, aesthetic presentation and functionality. Consideration also given to space allocation, traffic flow, building services, lighting, fixtures, flooring, colours, furnishings and surface finishes.
