Inspiration/Method
From a suggestion by an American friend to make something reflecting Australia, my inspiration for "Terra Australis" was to promote something totally unique to Australia. I am fascinated by Aboriginal art and the images it presents.
This project is totally my design and was created using mainly seed beads and other beading media sewn to fabric. I love the colours and image that it presents. The large stone in the lower left hand corner is Australian opal. The bead on the right shoulder is a lampwork bead.
Design Challenge
Because I am very proud to be an Australian, I wanted to create something totally unique to Australia. The design process I found easy and developed quickly.
It contains some Australian media in the form of the opal.
