Project Overview

Bar of Thor's mission statement was to design, build and create highly portable mobile bar units/ service areas with a unique visual effect which surrounds a rustic theme.

Project Brief

Three individual mobile bar units have been built by Bar of Thor for the service industry. A number of these units can be placed together to create a larger service area. Different utilities such as; refrigeration, glass wracks, kegs etc can be placed underneath each individual unit. The units can also be placed together to create a fully functional "wet bar". Dimensions of these units are 1.2 metres wide by .6 metres deep.

Project Innovation/Need

The innovation of this design:
- Portability
- easy to transport
- Versatile to suet each individual event or function
- A unique effect surrounding a theme

Uses in the marketplace:
- Ease of mobility for the hospitality industry.
- An increasing need for mobile bar units for private, corporate and commercial venues.

Design Challenge

The design challenges were as follows:
- Maximising portability
- Which material to use to create a desired effect
- Minimising cost factors to build each individual unit

To overcome these challenges the K.I.S.S. principal was used.

Sustainability

To Build these mobile bar units new materials were outsourced using local business with waste minimising factors taken into consideration.




This award celebrates innovative and creative design for a temporary building, interior, exhibition, fixture or interactive element. Consideration given to materials, finishes, signage and experience.
