Wocket®, by NXT-ID, is a next generation smart wallet. Imagine only ever carrying one card in your wallet and never having to worry about losing your personal information.

All your personal and card information is saved on an encrypted, tamper proof chip that can only be accessed with your biometric stamp of approval. When you're ready to use a card, select it from the touch screen and your Wocket Smart Card 'becomes' the card you selected - ready to be used just like a normal card.

Best of all, it's still a wallet. So as well as securely storing all your personal information and cards, it stores cash and can be accessorized to suit your personal style.

Project Brief

Wocket®, by NXT-ID, is a next generation smart wallet. Designed to protect your identity and replace all the cards in your wallet without needing a smart phone or internet connection, Wocket can be stylishly accessorized to meet your taste and lifestyle. The included WocketCard works virtually anywhere credit cards are accepted and can only be used with your biometric (voice) stamp of approval. Virtually any card in your wallet today can be protected with Wocket.

Project Innovation/Need

Wocket® brings several major innovations to the world of smart wallets.

Current mobile wallets require merchants and customers to have compatible and accepted technologies. For a smart wallet to effectively replace a traditional wallet, it has to be ubiquitously accepted anywhere you use your wallet today.

To meet this challenge, the Wocket is designed to work on the global standard for payment - magnetic card readers. To achieve this, we had to create a dynamic card that looks and feels like a normal card, but is actually a sophisticated computer that is less than 1mm thick.

We also knew that in an age where identity theft is prolific, security had to be a high priority. The Wocket brings together advanced biometrics and a host of other features that ensure that your information is only accessible to you - even if you loose your wallet.

Design Challenge

To ensure the security of the wallet, Wocket® is not dependent on an internet connection, a cell phone or cloud hosting of personal information. This approach protects against major hacks like the ones we've seen over the past year.

We also acknowledged that users wouldn't like the idea of charging their wallet every day. As a result, we've made Wocket so efficient, that we measure time between recharges in months, not hours - so you'll never be out of power when it comes time to pay.

Sustainability

Wocket® consolidates all your payment, gift, membership, loyalty and other cards into just one and in doing so eliminates the need for all those plastic cards to be issued.

Lost wallets are also the leading known cause of identity theft - by making the personal information in wallets inaccessible to would-be thieves (digital and physical), Wocket can help prevent the billions of dollars in fraudulent transactions made annually.
