Project Overview

This 1950's bathroom had a typical layout for the era. Three rooms shared one open space. One main room housed a bath and vanity, then next that room a separate toilet and a separate shower room.

A complete design and renovation was required.

Project Brief

The brief was to create an open plan bathroom, which could also house a European laundry. We didn't want the bathroom to date, but at the same time we wanted it to be sophisticated and warm.

Three internal walls had to be removed. A lintel that spanned the room was installed.

We lowered the ceiling, so we could house the venting that was required for the shower fans. We installed x2 Larger windows for more light and simplicity.

The Custom made wall of cupboards contain plently of storage, and disguise the two entries to the bathrooms.

Timber button towel rails, inwall toilet in the mirror and custom designed Cabinetry make this bathroom a joy to use. The illusion of the partition wall in the centre backing up to the mirror looks like it runs through to the other side, which give a great visuall effect.

Project Need

As the room is quite tricky, we feel we used the space really well and met the brief, which included an entry through the main bedroom.

We installed Pendant lighting and mounted other globes onto the mirrors, which is not used enough in bathrooms, to give this bathroom a 50s feel and bring luxury to the space.

Design Challenge

As the home had a narrow stair entry and is on the second level, we had to bring the large windows in through the existing window via scaffolding.

The second thing was creating the two bathrooms in the space we had.

All our products we used are from Rojer seller that are made to the best quality and finish.
