Wallpaper* Bar + Kitchen, London

Great design, tasty food, unimpeachable style, and tireless champion of the fabulous stuff have long been hallmarks of the Wallpaper* world. The only question is why it’s taken them this long to open their own bar and kitchen.

Great design, tasty food, unimpeachable style, and tireless champion of the fabulous stuff have long been hallmarks of the Wallpaper* world. The only question is why it’s taken them this long to open their own bar and kitchen.

Designed by the London-based Virgile and Partners, our new hideout sits within Project 109, luxury retailer Harvey Nichols’ swanky new menswear department.

The space, anchored by a handsome stainless-steel trimmed bar that’s flanked by high leather stools, mixes industrial chic and coloured terrazzo tiles, with texture plaster and splashes of dark chestnut and sky-blue.

The day menu skates from Eggs Royale and a protein power shake to a lunch sandwich of sirloin steak and Asian slaw, and banoffee pie.

All of which is a prelude to the drinks menu which features a tipsy sweep of cocktails from 50 of the world’s best bars including an old-fashioned from New York’s The Dead Rabbit and a killer Hermosa from Singapore’s 28 Hongkong Street – proof enough, perhaps, that all good things come to those who wait.
