Project Overview

The reception center with a countryside style and surrounded by the mountains, but it located right in Tai-Chung city downtown, this deceiving spot at latest redevelopment zone of the city. Being surrounded by tons of concrete buildings, this tiny one-floor building is powerful and very much alive. Li-Ren, Chang, the designer, respects the mother nature with humble and modest attitude and has transformed this concept of “ Metropolitan crave the neighborhood of nature” into something real by reserve half space for the greenery. Once again, inspires people with totally relaxation .

Project Brief

The building located right in the middle of a green area. The French windows and natural texture is telling us the object is part of the greenery. To avoid the western exposure, the designer made a folding wall in the entryway, and 2 French windows are facing the north and south, for people inside can appreciate the greenery view outside. Being closed to the nature is never this easy.

Project Need

Base on the mountain image concept, deliberately hold back exterior open space should be turned into green space, also left land-scarce city residents a chance to embrace nature.

Design Challenge

When it comes to interior design, it's so different from any other kind of commercial products, and the demand from the clients could go extremely complicated. From the big picture to small details, it takes a lot of hard work and even so, when the job gets done, everything pays off, totally overwhelming.

Sustainability

This mountain-shape building is like being installed in an urban jungle, totally interprets the concept of embracing the nature and landscape.

Open to all international projects this award celebrates innovative and creative building interiors, with consideration given to space creation and planning, furnishings, finishes, aesthetic presentation and functionality. Consideration also given to space allocation, traffic flow, building services, lighting, fixtures, flooring, colours, furnishings and surface finishes.
