Gate Gourmet is the world's leading independent provider of airline catering and provisioning services. They offer solutions for passenger rail service, airport lounges, convenience stores and related establishments. The organisation has grown considerably over the past sixty years and with 27,000 members of staff, they were looking for a smart, more robust solution to support HR matters.

The Project and Creative Team was made up of Jason Gaved (Managing Director), Conor Carr (Project Manager), Justin Howard (Consultant Developer) and Debbie Hayes from Gate Gourmet.
Project Brief
Gate Gourmet approached Lexel following a recommendation and we quickly learnt that the key issue was providing staff with access to important HR documentation, policies and procedures. Information was being stored in various places, including their intranet and shared folders, which was making it difficult to locate. With over 27,000 staff - it was hard to find specific information, such as HR policies so we produced the Lexel iHR system - which is now used by a number of other companies.
Project Need
The Lexel iHR system is one off a kind. It allows staff to have a non-intrusive mobile application to book holiday, look at HR policies, see the corporate hierarchy, view offices across the world and say "Thank you" to people for a good shift via Push Notifications. This means that staff have all the information they need at a push of a button.
The application also features an easy-to-use HR back-end system some of the features include: push notifications to all staff members, messages to specific staff members, ability to add, edit and delete users, office locations and HR policies.
User Experience
The UX was extremely important. Lexel wanted staff to engage with the application and use it on a daily basis. The uptake of the application has been extremely positive and is now used on a daily basis but a huge amount of the staff base.
