Voters Voice - Victorian Electoral Commission / Conduct

Government Services

Voters Voice is believed to be the first of its type in the world. There is no product available to assist users with complex communication issues to facilitate voting in this fashion. Voters Voice assists people who have complex communication difficulties, speak Auslan or have literacy issues, to enrol and vote. It features a Communication Board that can be set up ahead of voting, the Victorian Electoral Commission’s (VEC) Easy English Guides and Auslan footage for hearing-impaired voters. It follows mobile WCAG 2.0 AAA compliance. Cost savings for the VEC are estimated at around $1M.

Australian Bureau of Statistics - ABS Stats Mobile Apps - Australian Bureau of Statistics / Ansible

Government Services

The ABS Stats mobile app, commissioned by the Australian Government’s peak statistics body, the Australian Bureau of Statistics, gives users easy access to official statistical data across a broad range of key areas. For statistics geeks, anybody from the career politician to the dinner party know-it-all, the app gives invaluable access to the latest information. Ansible’s redesign and relaunch of the venerable mobile app stands out among government mobile apps as a new benchmark in lean, modern and user centric development.

Record My Hours - by Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) - Fair Work Ombudsman / Ansible

Government Services

The Fair Work Ombudsman has released a new app aimed at tackling the persistent problem of underpayment of young and migrant workers. While most employers want to do the right thing, the FWO sees many examples of records that are either missing information or in some cases, deliberately misleading. This creates difficulties in determining whether workers are being paid their correct entitlements. The ‘Record My Hours’ app solves this problem by leveraging smartphone features like Wi-Fi and GPS tracking to make it easy for workers to automatically and accurately record their hours of work and pass-on information about their employment.

Lambing Planner - Department of Agriculture and Food / Dapper Apps

Government Services

This soon to be released app is an initiative of the Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia. The existing lambing planner is a hand-held, paper based tool targeted at farmers. It allows you to change a lambing date or a joining date to see the impacts of that on other key times in the reproductive year. It also features a short best-practice guide for lambing. The app is being created on iOS and Android, taking this digital and making the whole process more intuitive, cost effective and accessible to all.
