Project Brief

Bungalow Bench Seat - A new Bungalow Bench Seat has been added to the Stool which was so well received in Milan last year. The sculptural American Walnut frame has been expertly crafted using 5 axis CNC technology making it both beautiful and lightweight. The woven leather strips create the seat pad, which is finished off with beautiful stitch detailing.

Bungalow Sofa - The Bungalow sofa has been designed to complement the popular Bungalow stool range. The sofa frame is lightweight and features stunning American Walnut that has been finished in natural oil.
The seat support is a matrix made up of complex woven leather strips finished with stitch detailing.

Bungalow Stool : This sculptural lightweight frame, made from American walnut with a natural oil, has been expertly crafted using 5 axis CNC technology. The seat pad has been designed using a single piece of premium leather cut to resemble a woven pattern. This perforation simplifies the seat pad detail eliminating the need for stitching and echoing the simplicity of the overall design aesthetic.

Design Challenge

We wanted to work with Walnut timber and leather and RIVA 1920 wanted us to create a range of seating.

Sustainability

We love working with timber as it feels alive. Wood is a renewable resource but there is not an infinite supply. We believe in responsible use and RIVA 1920 collections are all made using materials from America. The walnut is from forestry plantations. This means that each time a tree is cut down to produce RIva furniture, others are planted in its place, such that the circle of life is not interrupted and that nature gets back what it has given. Using reforestation woods means living in the present but thinking about the future we are creating.
