Lotterywest Retail Transformation - Lotterywest / Best. Design to Life

Interior Design - Retail


Best. Design to Life have been collaborating with Lotterywest for over the past two years to transform the physical retail experience; with a sole focus on customer centricity. With a unique retail operating model encompassing over 550 sites throughout Western Australia, we have crafted a new experience that is a dramatic shift from the past. Unlike it's counterparts around Australia, Lotterywest is still a government owned lotteries commission, with a heavy focus on 'giving' grants back to the community. The new design redefines the balance between the retail and grants divisions, and when rolled out, will effect a transformed. consistent, simplified and engaging/interactive immersive physical experience that is intended to increase sales and importantly, broaden the customer base by making the product and experience relevant to new player segments. It will also be complemented by other retail channels (including online) to ensure the strategic five-year business growth plan objectives are met. The rollout over the 550 franchise sites will take 3 years, and commenced early in 2016.

Suttons Ugg - Russell Street - Suttons Ugg Australia / Rptecture Architects

Since their establishment in 2010, Suttons Ugg has quickly become one of the world leaders in rubber soled and non-slip soled fashion shoes and snow boots. With a large presence in Melbourne's major shopping centres, Suttons Ugg aims to further expand their brand with the addition of their flagship store located on Russell Street within the Melbourne CBD. The concept for their interior space was derived from the footprint of their boots.The concept was a driving force within all aspects of the fit out, enabling a consistent and cohesivedesign language and atmosphere.The unique shelving system created for the Suttons Ugg brand allows for a flexible display approach. The specialised design of the shoe display plate, means that each plate can be slotted into the timber or stone walls and removed and relocated as needed. The ability to freely change the display area allows for a unique shopping experience.The client is able to customise the display according to customers shopping behaviours. The curved design language of the display plate continues into the fluid, high visual impact and dynamic form of the display walls and bench seating to create a holistic approach to design.

Red Hill Health - Red Hill Health / Rptecture Architects

Red Hill Health is a health superstore, located along the bustling Swanston Street within Melbourne's CBD. The company began in Victoria's hilly Mornington Peninsula. This background heavily influenced the aesthetic and the overall outcome of the CBD store - which is a one stop shop for all health and vitamin needs. The client's vision was to create the next generation of health stores, thus needing an interior fit out which would reflect and highlight their point of difference - a space that would stand out from the traditional chemists and pharmacies. Breaking away from the typical chemist shelving and display systems - the client required a fresh and relaxing environment, whilst maintaining the company's professionalism. With clients being able to both shop and consult on-duty practitioners with ease and comfort. Inspired by the practice of naturopathy and their home landscape of the Peninsula, greenery was implemented as a way of referencing the store's humble beginnings. The jagged, geometric ceiling feature was also inspired by the peaks and terrain of Red Hill - the store's birthplace and origin.

BLACK LEOPARD SKINCARE - BLACK LEOPARD SKINCARE / EWERT LEAF PTY LTD

The design needed to reflect a newcomer in mens only skincare. A small space that was masculine without being domineering through function and finishes to capture the market and help create the client's brand in their flagship store.

kikki.K Studio at Chadstone shopping centre - kikki.K

Since Swedish-born Kristina Karlsson started the premium stationery brand in 2001, kikki.K has gathered a huge social media following and has a store presence in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong. The next step was to continue on its path to global expansion with fresh, exciting store environments that reflect the aspirational lifestyle brand as it is today. First up: the launch of the new global concept with a flagship in Chadstone, Melbourne. We created the ‘kikki.K Studio’ – an engaging space for making, teaching and meeting in the city, where Swedish style meets a laid-back Melbourne attitude.
