Collaborative teamwork across countries to bring the concept of quality bluetooth speakers built into a light bulb that provides excellent sound as well as excellent light. The team included international lighting professionals with over 50 years collective experience in lamp and luminaire design.

The PULSE LED light bulb has JBL speakers inside, JBL is the largest speaker brand in the world. It’s as easy as connecting to Bluetooth, as we all do in our car or office, and you have perfect of sound in any room, anytime, anywhere!

Wireless dimming and music in any room would have cost thousands in the past. PULSE makes a connected smart home affordable by blending two important technologies into one simple device.

Design Challenge

Many challenges were overcome in the development of PULSE.
How to link the lamps together with an intelligent and secure system
What shape the light bulb needed to be for acoustic performance
How the concept would work in a normal home
How to achieve the lighting performance needed for everyday use
How to keep the light bulbs affordable and accessible to everyone
How to build simplicity into the design and the APP for ease of use.
Between the 5 man team of lighting innovators, all of these challenges and more have been met and surpasses, bringing a simple, revolutionary light bulb to market that is completely affordable.

Sustainability

PULSE LED light bulbs are simple everyday replacement light bulbs with energy efficient LED technology built in.
With just 8W consumed to create the same light as a 50W halogen downlight, and no more that 15W consumed with the speakers and lights at full volume, the PULSE LED light bulb is a valuable energy saving tool in any home, with the added benefits of lighting control and JBL speakers built in.
