Project Overview

When it comes to buying undies, it's the last thing a guy wants to think about. Guys will often wear the same pairs of undies until they have so many holes they look like a spotted dog. Founder of Three65 William Strange had a dream of creating a way for guys to keep their undies fresh while they don't need to think about it anymore. Three65 will send you fresh, high quality, affordable undies to your door every 3 months.

Project Brief

William Strange, founder of Three65 was about to take his dream onto Australia's TV show, SharkTank. His website was slow, clunky and very hard to purchase from and didn't cater for the target audience at all. Given that we knew a large portion of users would be accessing the site on their mobile during the episode the mobile view of the site was of paramount importance.

Our goal was to re-engineer the project from the ground up to produce an outcome that allowed users to understand the concept without having to search for it and may purchasing so easy you don't have know you've purchased it.

Project Innovation/Need

By using WooCommerce, the world leading eCommerce platform, we were able to re-engineer the purchase process from being a standard checkout process to something that was completely unique for Three65. Knowing that we would have to deal with large amounts of traffic we had to make sure the website was lean and it could handle thousands of concurrent visitors. By using WooCommerce as a base we knew the system would be light weight allowing for a lot less server stress - then engineering the purchase process to remove unnecessary server calls we could ensure we'd be in the best position to handle the thousands of concurrent visitors we would experience on the mobile site during the episode of SharkTank.

Design Challenge

We had an extremely tight deadline to produce the Three65 website that was almost half what we would normally allocate for a project of this scale and importance. Credit to the team for being able to deliver something of a such a high standard in a short period of time.

User Experience

At Emote Digital we focus intensely on user experience before we even so much as look at the Photoshop icon. With Three65 we were able to create a purchase process that was so simple, that the site regularly hits 5-7% conversion rate which anyone with the eCommerce space would know is truly amazing. The stats for the mobile site were truly amazing with the mobile site taking 60% of all conversions on the day of the SharkTank episode.

This outstanding result has been achieved through a customised purchase process where we make the selection process super easy, bypass the shopping cart to go directly to the checkout and other little things such as removing the menu and other distractions from the checkout page. For the mobile we carefully considered every element of the layout to make purchasing on mobile as easy as the desktop site (if not easier).




This award celebrates innovation and creativity in design of a unique user experience in the combination of text, audio, still images, animation, video, and interactive content for mobile. Consideration given to clarity of communication and the matching information style to audience.
