Project Brief

The brief was to develop a range range of technical performance sportswear combining the most advanced technical fabrics and construction techniques, with Olympic and Paralympic athlete feedback, to produce a range of quality performance garments that meets the needs of the more discerning consumer.

Project Innovation/Need

At 776BC we work with the world’s best athletes to develop the gear any athlete would want to wear when they set out to put down their best performance.

Unlike other brands, we involve the athletes at the start of the development process. All 776BC garments have been cut to meet the athlete’s technical specifications. We seek athlete input on the fit, feel and performance at the start of the product development process and engage in ongoing feedback and product refinement. We involve elite athletes because they know athletic kit better than anyone else.

All 776BC items use high performance technical fabrics designed to optimise the performance of the garment under the toughest conditions. 776BC incorporates high performance construction techniques to ensure the cut, style and fit of the garment aids muscle movement and performance, while keeping the freedom of movement athletes need to perform at the elite level. Carbon Fibre is used throughout the 776BC range, chosen for its supreme strength and durability and performance benefits.

Design Challenge

776BC was born out of a real problem experienced by co-founder, two time Olympian Cameron McKenzie-McHarg. As an elite athlete representing Australia internationally for 12 years, too often he was expected to compete in gear which he, and many other athletes felt didn’t measure up to the physical and mental preparation undertaken to compete on the world stage.

From Cameron’s years of experience as an elite athlete he is passionate about applying the same commitment, dedication and detail required as an athlete, into developing the world’s best performance sportswear which truly meets the needs of the more discerning user, who wants gear that truly works.

Central to this was the identification of high quality durable fabrics designed to not only perform, but last.

Sustainability

The 776BC range is designed and manufactured in Melbourne, Australia. Furthermore, all items in the 776BC range incorporate high quality performance fabrics and construction techniques to provide enhanced durability.
