Project Overview

ACF Church, a medium-sized Christian church based in Rowville with members of all ages and with diverse ethnic backgrounds wanted to undertake a rebranding exercise.

To develop a brand identity for the church that appeals to a multicultural and family-focused audience.

The new identity would then be rolled out across various communications collateral and media platforms.

Project Innovation/Need

Vive Group developed a brand identity for ACF Church that was inclusive, in terms of its appeal to existing members whilst ensuring that the church could communicate effectively to the people in the community who may not be aware of its existence.

The brand identity, supporting visual language and execution presents a welcoming, vibrant and caring community to prospective members.

We also developed an icon that could be utilised over the long-term, without a redesign, as the church is potentially looking to rename itself within the next 3-5 years.

Design Challenge

As a significant proportion of existing members were older and have been members for many years, the challenge was not to alienate these members during and as part of the rebrand process. We needed to appreciate and respect the heritage and history of the church.

In addition, as mentioned previously, the brand icon needed to be maintained, if (or when) the church decides to change its name.

Effectiveness

The new brand identity was extremely well received by the congregation and has undoubtedly brought new life to the church.

Vive Group also successfully implemented the brand identity across various communications including the 2014 Breakthrough Conference which ignited interest from many outside the church and has resulted in higher levels of enquiries for ACF Church.

Successful deliverables included: brand identity, pull-up banners, screensaver, press ad, poster, guest welcome brochure, guest card, signage, stationery and the 2014 Breakthrough Conference registration brochure and other collateral.




This award celebrates creative and innovative design in the traditional or digital visual representation of ideas and messages. Consideration given to clarity of communication and the matching information style to audience.
