Project Brief

The mainly white inner space, and the simple and elegant north-European style create a warm residence, in which the public area is constituted by the living room, dining room, and kitchen. In the living room, a bright space is created by white culture-stone wall, white ceiling and floor, and daylight penetrating through the French windows. The delicate design of a TV wall, made of light-colored woods, creates the fashioned atmosphere in a modest interior space. The kitchen, on the other side of the living room, creates a warm dining space by painting mainly in white and furnishing dark wooden furniture and veneers.

Project Need

Followed by innovations of technology and knowledge, people are considering living environment as more than a place satisfying the hardware requirements. In addition to meeting the fundamental living standards of complete functions, conveniences, and comfort, the residences, nowadays, must be taken into considerations of the future living styles such as owners’ perceptions, habits, and concerns for environmental protection.

Design Challenge

Because of the family’s demands, the designer built a multi-functional area by utilizing the elevated floor, the platform functioned as both table and chair next to a bay window, and the large bookcase.

Sustainability

Putting an emphasis on the ideas of comfort and relaxation, the designer delicately creates the silent and profound atmosphere by using white, the same color in public area as well, and dark-wooden furniture and walls. The designer presents the residence as a home, by using simple and clean-cut skills.
