Project Brief

If you can't move fast in Digital you're obsolete. We made a new brand for NTT DATA Digital. And then we made them a website that would "carve their image into the retinal cells of anyone who looked at it." The bit in inverted commas was our brief.

Project Innovation/Need

We introduced the idea of wisdom to a market obsessed with novelty to the point of addiction. We stopped Digital Transformation being stuffy. Instead of talking about cool, we made cool.

Design Challenge

Organising our client's content into three coherent pillars was the primary design challenge. Once we had that everything else grew out of the core brand visual assets.

User Experience

UX is predominantly video. Everything essential is in the movie at the head of the site. And the tone is set by the parkour artist looping in the background. This sector, with contracts worth millions, is driven by more than ticking boxes on a website. But the brand, the site, the pipeline and above all the phenomenal drive and determination of the founder-directors have taken this company from <20 to >200 people in barely a year.

The web plays into this in a very particular way. You cannot recruit good people in digital for money. Competition for talent is intense and pay is good everywhere. You motivate digital talent with the kind of work, the kind of colleagues, and the kind of company - the style, the buzz, the potential to do great work. We like to think the website is doing the trick, delivering all those applicants to a company that hadn't launched 12 months ago. It's credible and, by sector standards, it's far out and trekking. So it works.




This award celebrates innovation and creativity in design of a unique user experience in the combination of text, audio, still images, animation, video, and interactivity content for websites. Consideration given to clarity of communication and the matching information style to audience.
