Project Overview

Transport for London has released the first official map showing the walking times between central London's Tube stations.

The comprehensive plan highlights the time it takes to travel on foot between almost all of the stations on London’s Underground network.

Travelliing in the Tube, it's hard to gauge how far you actually travel and whether you are better off walking. This alternate map will tell you just that.

Some journeys, such as the one between King’s Cross to Highbury and Islington, take upwards of half an hour on foot.

But others, including Mansion House to Cannon Street and Leicester Square to Covent Garden, can be completed by walking for less than five minutes.

The map is the first official one of its kind and was released following the popularity of other unofficial versions.
