Project Overview

Since the products of our company are related to textiles, this design was inspired by the Chinese legend of the dancing fairies with colorful ribbons. As a pioneer of heat generating fiber technique, Apollo International has a historical positioning from the past to the future. The company owns the innovative invention and worldwide patented technology that can guide the reformation of the whole industry, bringing an unprecedented beauty and happiness in the textile industry to future humanity.

Project Brief

Legend has it that when fairies dance with their ribbons, it brings fortune and happiness to all beings. Apart from the spaces in which the fairies acquire, the ribbons are actually the transformations of dragons. Ribbons and dragons are symbols of fortune and prosperity. Legend goes that the dragon and fairies bring affluence to all beings through their ribbon dance.

Project Need

The design of the counter right inside the doorway is inspired by a "diving dragon" in "The Book of Changes". A dragon diving into the water symbolizes the end of the old era of textile industry. Beside the sofa located on the right, is a design of a rising dragon. It is inspired by the Chinese legend of a dragon lashing its tail, coiled up like a ribbon springing upwards. It is said that as the dragon lashes its tail, it brings powerful positive energy, symbolizing the upcoming era of textile industry. The two textile models hanging from the ceiling, inspired by the soaring dragon from "The Book of Changes" , are like fairies dancing with ribbons, and also like dragons circling the sky, bringing fortune to the people.

Design Challenge

The three marble mosaics on the floor, inspired by the words “Dragon appears in the fields, bringing fortune to the people.” in “The Book of Changes", symbolize dragons soaring through the world. It also alerts the operator of the three universal principles in doing business and handling affairs: Zhen (Truth), Shan (Compassion), Ren (Forbearance), and shifts the guidelines and visual focus to the distance.
The molding of the conference room ceiling is as well inspired by dragons soaring thousands of miles a day. It serves as the symbol of the company's rapid progression and glorious prospects.

Sustainability

The founder of the company modestly said that the innovative technology is granted by heaven, and their target is to give people the access to the new generation of energy-saving and heat generating textile products. Based on the gratitude to heaven, the designer has combined the ribbons that represent textile with the fairy and the dragon, which both refer to the blessing from God. He has successfully transformed them into modern design and shaped a perfect space filled with stories.

Interior Design - International Commercial

Open to all international projects this award celebrates innovative and creative building interiors, with consideration given to space creation and planning, furnishings, finishes, aesthetic presentation and functionality. Consideration also given to space allocation, traffic flow, building services, lighting, fixtures, flooring, colours, furnishings and surface finishes.
