design100 and [app] Design Awards Founder Mark Bergin said “the acceleration in the apps market continues unabated. In the past arms races have been about strength, domination and control.

The digital economy is more about nuance; users will drop an app at lightning speed if it’s not on trend, not in the behavioural pattern of a fast changing world. Again we’ve seen long hall app brands innovate, come up with something astounding and take the challenge up to the new disrupters.

Apps are accelerating from smart phones to include machine to machine, web apps and ever more so connected devices.  The pace of the market is astounding and speeding up – congratulations to the market leaders.”

Silver winners include:  Healthcare Heroes, Ed Tech - Northern Health / Millipede, Pepper Pulse, Fintech - Pepper Group / Alive, Stan, Entertainment & Leisure and Carsales Apple Watch App, Best Connected Device & Wearable Tech - carsales.com.au.

Gold winners include: AFL Live for Apple Watch, Best Connected Device & Wearable Tech - Telstra / Outware, Fradio, Entertainment & Leisure – Guvera, CommBank App for Tablet, Fintech - Commonwealth Bank, Domain Home Price Guide, Best New Service or Application - Domain Group, Telstra Perth Fashion Festival, Fashion Tech - Telstra Perth Fashion Festival / Alive, Royal Easter Show, Family -  Royal Agricultural Society of NSW / Mobiddiction and Vote Victoria, Ed Tech- Victorian Electoral Commission / Mnet Mobile.

With a panel of 180 of the world’s leading design minds providing curatorial, judging and design summit direction.
