Project Brief

b2cloud were approached to build a site and mobile apps that enhances the dining experience to provide the best way for people to book and enjoy their meal. YumTable offers both a booking and discount service in one, and is fully focused on helping people to get the most out of their dining experience. When a reservation is made, the offer is automatically communicated with the restaurant and the discount accounted for on the final bill.

There are no vouchers, no hassles and no forced mid-week dinners – just easy savings at quality restaurants, with a great range and choice for food lovers and casual diners alike.

Project Need

The process of finding restaurants and making a booking is really clunky. We were tasked with creating an exceptional experience for customers that makes the whole process super simple and delightful.

We filled the apps with filtering options that really allows customers to tailor the restaurant experience to their desires. Whether sorting by location, price, cuisine type and more, Yumtable aims to personalize the booking experience for customers.

The innovation didn't stop, as we took the approach of needing to keep improving the app and going beyond just bookings. We had the idea to partner with Uber for an Australian first experience to allow customers of Yumtable to book and pay for an Uber ride directly from within the apps themselves. Now the whole process of finding, booking and traveling to your dining destination can be met in one delightful app experience.

User Experience

Yumtable's focus is all about getting people to eat out and try new restaurants, so the app naturally puts the restaurants front and centre, searchable by location, cuisine and availability. From the moment you load the app, you are presented with pre-populated suggestions of restaurants around you, reducing the steps for the first time user to see great meals and discounts.

Each screen was carefully designed and tested to ensure we were providing the right amount of information to customers to allow them to make easy decisions. Large sized restaurant photos are balanced with pricing and location info that is easy to see at a quick glance.

To create the best dining experience, we partnered with Uber to allow customers to easily book a ride to their dining experience and back, making it a more delightful journey that keeps customers engaged.

Project Marketing

Catch of the Day engaged their PR agency to ensure the media was familiar with their latest start-up. Importantly, they were also able to market to their large customer base of several million users who are part of the Catch network, which saw a flood of new happy customers signing up for great discounts to Yumtable.

Using the Catch network to cross-promote Yumtable by placing badges and banners on their site, as well as promotional links in all Catch of the Day customer correspondence, ensured large engagement with new customers.

Project Privacy

b2cloud always caters for the highest security of user information, and uses reasonable physical, administrative, and technological safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of all information collected.

Exactly as it states - we're looking for the best startup projects. Startup projects need to be newly emerging, less than 5 million users and less than 3 years old.
