The Cash Back App was conceived by Bruce Inglis who devised the 'Everybody Wins' concept of shopping and personal income opportunity that benefited members and business owners alike.

Bruce has over 30 years’ experience in sales and marketing in both national and state roles. As a small business owner he knows the value of a loyal customer and as a consumer he appreciates good value for money.

David Hennessy manages the app team and the development and improvement of our systems. He has held roles in information and project management in various Government agencies and has a large portfolio of systems built for clients through his own web services business.

Derek Morgan has many years in marketing, business management, software and technology development and marketing strategy. In addition he has over 13 years in the financial services industry advising SME on strategic investment, SMSF strategies and business succession risk management.

In addition to our core team we have a growing technology team of specialist developers.

Project Brief

Personal economies are changing rapidly for the average consumer with rising costs of living, increasing personal debt and lessening job security. The one thing people cannot avoid is their living expenses. A person’s living expenses is someone else’s profit centre. Likewise small business is struggling with increased competition, rising cost of advertising with a reducing ROI, increasingly complex online opportunities and competition.

By aligning the interests of the consumer with the interests of business owners, we have been able to create a Loyalty and Cash Rewards program with the ability to create recurring income for both parties through the unique application of traditional affiliate marketing strategies.

The primary objective of this project and our business is to create an opportunity for members to partner with business in sharing profits generated from personal shopping spend as well as that of their friends who have been referred to the App and participating businesses.

Through our innovative (and free to use app), we provide small business owners with increased profits from their core business, access to ultra low cost customer referrals and increased profits; resulting from this cash rewards program.

The Cash Back App, too, provides to members a Loyalty and Cash Rewards program with the ability to create recurring income for both parties through the unique application of traditional affiliate marketing strategies.

Project Need

Since 2007 there has been a 43.5% increase in annual business insolvencies. Over the same period, whilst the Australia share market has been recovering the XJO is still down over 18% from its all time high nearly 7 years ago.

Financial pressure in the community generally and small businesses in particular has been rising dramatically over this period, with many economists suggesting economic risk is on the rise again. This creates a situation where the average consumer and small business owner needs to have a more secure way of increasing their income.

By taking proven affiliate marketing models, combining this with big business rewards strategies and modifying the revenue models of traditional cash back websites. We have been able to develop a Membership program that allows anyone with a smart to profit share in existing consumption already going on in the economy.

In the process we have been able to deliver to small business a powerful referral strategy where the customers of the business are incentivised to refer customers to our rewards program.

This is done largely via peer to peer referral, resulting in organic viral marketing for businesses registered in our Rewards program. Effectively outsourcing lead generation and social media marketing to the existing customers of a business.

The Cash Back App gives users the opportunity for them to design their financial future using the phone they already and the expenses already running through their household.

User Experience

The App is built on relationship marketing with a 'pay it forward' business model. Potential new Members are first exposed to the App via a personal invitation from a friend or contact.

Whilst The Cash Back App supports a powerful financial model with the ability to have a significant impact on the financial success of the user, the functionality is constantly being refined to simplify and improve the user experience.

This is all being driven by Member/user feedback.

Engaging with the App is a relatively straight forward experience for the user. Starting with the simple share function allowing our Members (user) to choose their favourite form of communication to ‘Share’ the App with their contacts, be it SMS, email, Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter. Each message automatically includes a unique affiliate link to a simple registration and download process.

This links members into ‘Shopping Communities’ where they profit share in the transactions generated between Members and Merchants

The App is self-contained with videos on how the business model works and the functionality of the App.

Transactions occurring between Members and Merchants are simple and use QR codes and scanner built in to the App.

Members can register, download and experience the App with no obligation or commitment.

Project Marketing

We are currently experiencing on average over 10% Membership growth week on week for the past 3 months.

Our approach of ‘everybody wins’ drives our marketing strategy. Members receive a percentage of the shopping spend for the friends they refer via the 5 tier affiliate model.

As a result, members are motivated to market for us - and we facilitate social and standard media sharing with inbuilt app features.

This model of creating significant savings for Members on everyday expense they are already incurring makes it attractive for users to trial the App.

A positive personal experience for our Members coupled with their understanding of the financial results they can achieve personally by referring the App using our social media ‘Share’ function is proving to be a significant incentive for members to distribute the App.

Businesses registering on the App are also actively promoting the App to their in store traffic.

There is a team of 88 independent sales representatives marketing to market to the small business community and medium sized enterprises. In addition to this, there is advanced negotiation underway with large corporate and Not-For-Profit organisations preparing to promote The Cash Back App to substantial databases.

Not-For-Profit organisations are embracing this model as a way of accessing ongoing funding through their supporters existing living expenses. Through this process NFPs are adding value to their supporters through savings, and the supporters are contributing more to their favourite organisation.

Project Privacy

Our servers and app use 256bit encryption over a secure socket layer (Heartbleed protected). The communication between our servers and the app (to transfer data) also connects by this secure connection.

App accounts are password protected with a minimum of 5 characters required. Password encryption is SHA1 with a 16bit hash and SALT combination.

To protect our member's security, the app itself does not store any data on it - instead the data is stored on our secure servers. This protects our members against loss of private information in case their device is lost/stolen.

On top of this, inside the app, the user is prompted for a password when acting to change any identifying data and also to even view financial data.

Finally, our content management system uses commercially-back software (no community driven open-source) to ensure that the system as a whole always up-to-date against security to risks.

We, too, shows terms and conditions and privacy statements for the user to accept when they use the app.




This can be any new service or application from a start-up to an industry leader. It’s not just bells and whistles we're after but true innovation, exceeding expectations and filling a void that had previously been open.
