Project Overview

Everythere is a mobile application and powerful platform connecting the physical world to the digital world.

Everythere displays self-guided tours users can take through urban and remote areas, by foot, bike, by car or by bus.

A tour consists of multiple waypoints. Everythere is a tool for entertainment, education and discovering new experiences. Think of it as an interactive and upbeat version of TripAdvisor but instead of sending visitors to just one destination each tour owner strings the destinations into a predefined tour for visitors to enjoy as a complete experience.

Project Brief

WA Museum came to us and enquired about a mobile app to use at their museums allowing visitors to receive interpretation as they walked around.

A mobile app was out of their budget so we decided to create a platform allowing tour providers to be part of a mobile app for a fraction of the cost of a mobile app.

The mobile app was going to be called Everythere and it would allow engaging content from tour providers and businesses worldwide to be part of an easy to use mobile app, cross promoting tours.

The app would need to allow all different types of tours but to be generic enough to attract different content providers. The app must be easy to use and must also work indoors, outdoors, in cities and in outback areas where there would be no internet connection. It was a tough brief and we were planning to use everything we'd learnt in the last 5 years working on mobile apps. We also needed the app to be flexible enough to future proof it to include emerging technology.

Content providers required a CMS so that they could easily put together their tours. It would need to be an easy-to-use website where any non-technical type person could feel confident.

Project Need

Everythere uses iBeacon, Eddystone and GPS to pinpoint visitor who are using the app.

Mobile apps take months, even years to create. We have worked tirelessly to create an innovative platform, easy to use so that content owners (e.g. tour company, council, businesses or brands) can launch their engaging material in hours with a much more achievable and realistic return on investment.

Content owners can create their tours using mp3, videos, text and images. They can supply different content for different language groups. If a visitor's device is set to Chinese then they'll see the app's content in their language if available.

We have worked with a number of different types of industries, most recently a golf club where we set up a drone to take footage of all 18 holes. When the golf enthusiast arrives at the tee off area in a golf cart they are notified on their mobile to view the drone footage to give them a better understanding of that particular hole. When they reach the last hole they are invited to the club house for a drink. This uses iBeacon technology to know which hole a user has arrived at.

Everythere also allows "Walk & Talk" journeys from professional storytellers. Walk & Talks are self guided audio walks through historical areas, or town centres. The visitors keep their headphones in and are guided from one location to another.

User Experience

The app has been designed selfishly for a fabulous and unforgettable visitor experience and the app is not only beautifully designed but also intuitive.

We have tested and retested and ensured that the app offers an option to visitors to download any tours they wish prior to taking the journey. Once downloaded the visitors can take their journey with no internet connection needed at all. So outback tours without an internet connection is no problem.

Visitors receive push notifications when they walk into locations where there are tours of interest.

Content providers can create point to point tours for regular tours but also gamified tours where at each waypoint the visitor is give a task or a question to solve before being able to move on to the next waypoint. These work really well for education and testing comprehension.

Tour introductions are viewable on the app at any time but the tours themselves are only explorable when the visitor is at a set geographical location. So there's no sitting down at home discovering the tours, the visitor must get active and participate. However, once they've unlocked a new location they will always be able to view it over and over again from the comfort of their armchair.

Project Marketing

Our beta phase has been astoundingly successful and now our marketing campaign is about to start. We are working closely with set city pockets to create amazing experiences for visitors.

Everythere is working with councils, businesses, brands and tour companies to offer visitors a unique experience in new and familiar locations. Our partners are also sources of marketing, they're able to publicise to their visitors to download the app. They usually have signs at their locations and market through their existing marketing channels.

Project Privacy

Everythere respects its users' privacy and is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act), as well as other applicable laws protecting privacy. All information is handled in accordance with the laws stated above.

TravelTech helps us to get from A to B easier, quicker, cheaper, takes us to places far away while still sitting in our armchair, makes getting lost hard to do and informs, guides and assists. Take us on a journey with your app.
