LSC Product Catalogue

Silver

Project Overview

LSC wanted to create excitement about the ever changing nature of the security products that protect people and their possessions. The new LSC Product Catalogue follows our tradition of packing the publication with pictures, technical data, usage tips, charts and all the information our specialist industry needs. After 88 years in business LSC knows plenty about security and locking products. Our team of in house experts shared their knowledge openly to benefit our customers businesses, and our range, expertise, service and advice is like no other.

As a world class distributor we are fortunate to have a long and successful history, since 1926 we have brought the best products and the best brands to the security supply industry. This catalogue showcases these brands and their products to our customers Australasia-wide.

Project Brief

In a world where anything and everything is immediately available at our finger tips via the internet we asked our customers the question ‘do you still need a printed LSC catalogue’? The answer was a resounding YES! They told us nothing beats a comprehensive and easy to use catalogue in their hands, on the bench, in the van, to flick though, keep notes in, refer to and learn from.

Created with our customers business in mind, the LSC Product Catalogue features more images, greater technical detail and useful tips and advice on the best security products sourced from around the globe. This book in our customers hand, combined with the LSC website gives them a powerhouse of information.

Project Innovation/Need

In such a highly specialised field product knowledge is a journey and the most successful people in our industry are those with that insatiable thirst for product information and their applications.

Our objective is to take the vast, almost infinite amount of information available and to crystallise it down into an efficient and valuable printed tool, able to be used by anyone, anywhere.

We designed a catalogue that our customers could use as a daily resource, it is easy and efficient for our customers to source all their security needs to service their customer base.

Design Challenge

The goal was simply to create the most comprehensive catalogue for the Australasian security industry. LSC partners with local and global manufacturers to provide the security industry with leading brands and reliable products. As we stock over 20,000 product lines the design challenge was how to pack in that information into one catalogue – without compromising the look and feel.

Produced and designed in-house by our Marketing Department the emphasis was to make the catalogue very easy to read. By using a large font, lots of white space, clear and simple iconography and images our customers could located the product they required effortlessly.

Over 1700+ products were photographed in-house for inclusion in the catalogue along with line drawings on many of these with the product specifications.

The colour palette used throughout supported our corporate rebrand that was undertaken early in 2014.

The catalogue was a huge undertaking, but highly rewarding.

Effectiveness

In the digital age print is rapidly becoming rarer, but that just makes it more precious. Print allows anyone to use it – tech savvy or not. It is also accessible, try telling our client who is on a job 400 kilometres out of Alice Springs to look it up on the website. Out there print is a life saver.
This companion for our customers is already regarded as the best industry reference ever compiled.

Testimonial “I just wanted to congratulate you on this fantastic reference ! Well done - easy to follow, reference pictures etc - all will make things a lot simpler and quicker to use. As a mobile Locksmith, this kind of reference to refer to is vital.”
